St Paul’s Church of England Primary School
Caring for all. Growing with God

Music is taught as a discreet subject throughout the school.  During music lessons children are taught to perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions.  Our music lessons are sometimes linked to the topic theme studied in a class.

Children learn to sing and use their voices.  This is supported by weekly singing practice for children from Years 1 – 6.  We teach the children to understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated.

In years 4 and 5, children have recorder lessons delivered by a specialist music teacher from the Hounslow Music service.

The school also has an after-school choir, which perform at public events across the year.

Our Music schemes of work are attached at the foot of this page.
