We have one class in Year 1. Class 1L is taught by Miss Natalie Leanage. The class is supported regularly by the teaching assistant team and other auxiliary staff. Year 1 are based on the Alexandra House site.
Details of the curriculum plans, parent newsletters and the assessment resources can be accessed below.
Year 1 is a big jump from Reception and the children show so much growth in their social and academic learning. They become more independent and are given a chance to be responsible for their own learning. We enjoy hands-on and experiential learning where children are immersed in the topics we are learning about. The children are encouraged to continue their learning journeys at home through reading, writing, maths and topic practise. They are also welcome to share any knowledge that they have learned at home in school so that they may teach their peers! We are an inclusive classroom that appreciates the differences in others. We all do our very best in every lesson and high expectations are placed upon each child.
If you would like support in your child’s learning please speak to Miss Leanage or feel free to make use of the resources below!
