Music

Music lessons are taught regularly and often throughout the school. During music lessons children are taught to listen to and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions.

Children are also taught improvisation skills and how to compose original pieces of music.

Children also learn to sing and use their voices. This is supported by weekly singing practice for children from Years 1 – 6. We teach the children to understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated.

Whilst in the Juniors, children have recorder lessons delivered by a specialist music teacher from the Hounslow Music Service.

The school has an after-school choir, which perform at public events throughout the year.

We also offer ukulele and brass instruments, taught by instructors from the Hounslow Music Service, to children in years 3-5.

Our Music schemes of work are attached at the foot of this page.
