Where’s the Maths in that?

As part of Number November, 5K and some of Year 6 have been exploring different images and discussing the question: 'Well, where's the Maths in that?' At first, the children identify the most obvious choices, such as money and 3D shape, but it has been great seeing them think more deeply about the image. We have come up with long lists of ways we can link Maths with the images and found more examples than we could have imagined.
It has really helped us understand that there is so much Maths in the world around us, and often we are using skills we didn't even realise.
