To forgive or not to forgive?

Posted by Mrs Little on 25/03/21 at 01:58 PM

Continuing our theme of Forgiveness and Hope from RE lessons, 6KL explored some everyday scenarios in our Class Assembly. We voted on whether we felt the individual should be forgiven or not, which the children really enjoyed. Our choices brought about some interesting discussions and questions and the class thought carefully about their opinions and reasons.

Towards the end of the assembly it was revealed that all of these scenarios were taken from events in the Bible in which God has shown forgiveness Himself or through his followers. We discussed how difficult it can be to forgive others sometimes and how Christians might be able to learn from these examples in the Bible. It was a really enjoyable time of reflection together and I was really pleased with how the children approached the challenge.
