Good roots run deep

We started the day by going on a nature walk through some of the beautiful countryside around Sayers Croft. Then we returned, refuelled and enjoyed a visit from Mr Wright and Mr Greene. In the afternoon we went on the WWII trail, where we all got to sit in a real bomb shelter used by the evacuees who lived at Sayers Croft during the war and had a go at building shelters that were sturdy and waterproof (something Mrs Cossar thoroughly enjoyed testing!) Finally, we enjoyed sitting by the campfire, singing songs and listening to one of Mr Wright's famous stories!
