Castles and Palaces
This week in Reception the children were learning about different Castles and Palaces in England.
They looked at photos and listened to facts about Windsor Castle, Leeds Castle, Hampton Court and Buckingham palace. The children then wrote words to describe the Castles and Palaces or sentences sharing facts about them. They also designed and made their own crowns, made Castles using recycled boxes, drew Castles and Palaces using pastels and paints, using wooden blocks children made Buckingham Palace. The children also made their own Shields and pretended to be Knights protecting a Castle.
Outside the children used the large construction to build their own Castles and palaces and used these in their own role play. Together children also made a large castle from Large boxes. The children had great fun this week pretending to live in Castles or Palaces.
