Athletics Competition

In Year 6 this half term we have been working on our Athletics skills. We have explored a range of throwing, jumping and running events. The children seem to have really enjoyed it and have shown a lot of progress.
For our final lesson of half term we split into teams and took part in various events as part of our own 'Mini-Olympics'. The children each participated in javelin; shot put; triple jump and a relay race to score points. The favourite event was the relay races- the children thought through their order and techniques carefully and tried hard to pass over the baton as smoothly as possible. It was also lovely to see them cheering each other on.
At the end of the competition the blue team was declared the winners!
