What’s the weather like today 1S?

This half term, the children in Year 1 are learning all about the weather.

To kick off this new Topic, the children headed into the playground to see what they thought the weather was like that day. We began by sitting in a circle and straight away the children pointed out how hot it was. We then discussed how the weather might change throughout the day and some children noticed that they could feel a breeze in the air. They then walked around the playground, investigating how objects felt in the sunlight and in the shade.

We then returned to the classroom to fill in our weather chart which is now a daily morning task. Throughout the week, the children were quick to spot that more and more clouds were appearing and we even had some rain. 1S are keeping their fingers and toes crossed that the sun will return!
