Trip to Boston Manor Park

Posted by Mrs Heyhoe on 23/03/23 at 04:11 PM

Today, a group of Year 1 and 2 children visited Boston Manor Park.

We enjoyed a quick play in the playground and then went for a walk around the park. We looked at Boston Manor House, which was built by Lady Mary Reade in 1623.

We spotted ducks, geese, seagulls, pigeons, dogs, and a coot sitting on her nest.

We saw lots of beautiful trees at Boston Manor, including yew trees, elder trees, and the huge Cedar of Lebanon. This tree was planted by the Clitherow family over 300 years ago.

The children also took part in an orienteering workshop. They looked at the points of the compass and learnt how to remember them - ‘Never Eat Shredded Wheat’ (North, East, South, West). Then they found coordinates on a map of Boston Manor Park.

Thank you so much to Boston Manor Park for having us!
