The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it…

'The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.' (John 1: 9-10)

As Christmas Eve is upon us, many of us take this time to remember the hope of the promised Messiah, Jesus Christ, and how He was sent to bring light to the world.

Thank you God for sending your Son to be born on one glorious night. Thank You for the light he brought to the world; a light that no darkness can ever overcome. May that same light shine within us and out of us, giving us hope, faith and strength. Thank You that at Christmas time we are able to celebrate the gift of Jesus and all He stands for. Amen.

We hope that whatever you are doing this Christmas Eve, you have a chance to feel a similar hope, and excitement for what is to come tomorrow and beyond. (We also hope that our children are not too reluctant to go to bed this evening as they anticipate waking up tomorrow morning!)
