Caring for all. Growing with God

Summer 2 - Home Learning Resources

In recent briefings from the government the Education Secretary, Gavin Williamson, made clear that, “by 1 June at the earliest primary schools in England may be able to welcome back children in key transition years – nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6”. It therefore seems likely that the school closure programme for the remaining year groups will continue at the present time.

Over the last half term we have continued collating and preparing resources to support learning for the children of families who are not currently attending school. We still do not anticipate turning every home into a school, but we are keen to further develop our education offer to provide curriculum support for all families.

We have received feedback from some parents indicating that they would like greater structure to the learning materials that we are providing, with daily and weekly guidance.  We are currently working on this and shall endeavour to provide a more structured format from next week (08/06/20).

Under this message is a PDF ‘Dashboard’. This has hyperlinks in each of the circles, which will help you to locate and access the full range of learning tasks and resources.  This has not changed, but the pages it links to have been updated and added to. These updated resources have been uploaded to the school’s website today.  They are still arranged by Year group to facilitate use.

The resources include:
• A half-term Topic plan
• A new half-term English plan
• A half-term Maths plan
• Music lessons
• PE sessions

The NSPCC have also collated a set of advice and guidance to support parents and children during the Coronavirus shutdown.  There is advice on home schooling, mental health, internet safety and more.

Under this message there is also a link to the NSPCC website

I hope that you will continue to find the resources that we have collated and created useful during the school’s closure.  We shall continue to add further content to our Facebook page over the next few weeks.

Even with the gradual phased reopening of school, the school office and other facilities are much reduced and there will be no physical access to the office during the day. If you need to make contact, please use the office email address: office@stpauls.hounslow.sch.uk
