Sports journalism - Year 5/6 Girls Football
Starting from this week, we have a special treat to hear from some of our fine sportspeople at St Paul's and what happened in their tournament.
On Wednesday 18th January there was a Girls Football Competition for all the best football players in Hounslow Borough. It took place at Gunnersbury Park on the astroturf pitches so we had a little bit of a walk and a bus to get there.
When we arrived there were lots of teams (24 in total). Some of them looked really good! I (Maddy) led the warm up and all the girls were really excited about the matches, In our first match we lost a close game but Casey scored a really good goal. There were lots of breaks in between matches and we kept ourselves busy by playing hot potato and training for the next match. We then played another game and lost but we kept the best till last when we had a really good match against Hounslow Town which ended in a 1-1 draw in which I scored the penalty!
Thank you to Mr Johnston for taking us and we all had a really good time. Looking forward to next year's tournament
