Great to hear!
Today was our annual learning review morning. As part of their responsibilities for running the school, governors spent the morning investigating progress of an area from the school’s development plan.
Today it was pupils’ development in writing. They visited English lessons in Years 5 and 6 looking at how quality children’s literature is used to develop language and writing. They also delved into English books from Years 4 and 5 and were very impressed with the progress pupils are making over the year. They could see the enjoyment pupils have for the learning. A lot is expected of our children. Not only must they master the grammar and spelling; their writing needs to be lively, imaginative and effectively structured to achieve a clear purpose.
This morning was also an opportunity for parents to talk to governors about what they think of the school. Here are some of the parents’ comments: -
"My children always come back from school happy, they feel safe and settled here."
"The care that I feel the school gives is amazing, it really matters to me, that they know my child and she's looked after."
"Maths and science are his favourite, he really likes to learn now."
"It's good to get such a range of after school activities and music in school. I like the wide range they can do as well as the classroom teaching"
"I'd recommend the school to anyone, in fact the reason my child is in this school is because a friend recommended it to me "
