Eco Christmas

Posted by Mrs Little on 14/12/22 at 08:44 PM

In our last Eco Club of the term, we finished the bird feeders we have been working hard on, ready to hang them up for birds to enjoy. The children were really pleased to see their creations come together and seemed excited to be able to feed local birds too.

After this we talked about how many Christmas decorations are not environmentally friendly, and how often items such as Christmas cards and wrapping paper cannot be recycled. We brought together some old cards and wrapping paper and repurposed them to make our own decorations, showing that so many things can be reused and not sent to landfill. We had a range of creations including 'wreaths' and Christmas bunting.

I have really enjoyed launching Eco Club this half term and am so pleased with the enthusiasm of our members. I can't wait for our next project in the Spring Term and hope to see many of the members returning! Have a happy (and planet-friendly) Christmas!
