This week in School the children have celebrated Black History month. The focus was saluting our sisters.
The week began with a whole school assembly to introduce the reason behind covering Black History month in school and how many people have impacted the world we live in today.
In class all children created a display tile focussing on the poem and the sculpture of the Bronze Woman in Stockwell. These will be used to create a whole school display.
4L then focussed on a famous British woman called Dr Samantha Tross who was the first Black British surgeon. They drew stunning portraits, researched facts about her life which they then used to create their own fact files.
The children were very inspired by her achievements.
