Amazing Authors!
Today in Celebration assembly on the Alex House site, I was thrilled to invite many children from Years 5 and 6 to the front. Before Christmas, Year 5 and some of our Year 6 pupils took part in a national writing competition called 'A Twist in the Tale' where they had to write their own version of a traditional tale, with interesting adaptations.
Out of all of the entries we had many children selected to be published in the final book and this week, some purchased copies have been delivered. It was so exciting to share this book with the children this morning and to celebrate many of our older pupils becoming published authors! What a wonderful start to a new term!
We are very proud of all of the children who took part, and it was a writing competition they really seemed to enjoy.
