2V Visit the Science Museum

On Tuesday, 2V explored the Science Museum!

We took the E8 and then the Piccadilly Line from Boston Manor to South Kensington.

First, we took in the Space exhibit. We saw a statue of Yuri Gagarin (the first person in space), a life size model of ‘The Eagle’ that landed on the moon in 1969, an ACTUAL moon rock and so much more!

After lunch, we looked around the ‘Secrets of the Home’ exhibit which had examples of household technology through the years. It was very interactive and a favourite was ‘Pong’, the first ever home video game.

After that, we looked at larger pieces of technology through the years, such as the printing press, a loom and the first racing car! We loved how there were real cars stacked on top of the other on shelves just like they were toy models.

Before we had to leave, we had time to take in an exhibit of the Covid Pandemic, reminding the children that they themselves have lived through a significant period in history.
