WWII Bomb Shelters

As part of our WWII topic, year 5 created their own Anderson Bomb Shelters. The children had the opportunity to research different types of bomb shelters and then plan their own Anderson bomb shelter, using set specifications. The children had great fun in groups constructing their shelters. They then added their own design to the roof structure to help withstand ‘bombs’. Finally, the children bombed their shelters to test the strength and sturdiness of their design. Only a few survived.
