Writing lessons

Some Year 3 children have been learning how to use grammar correctly.

The children learnt how to use ‘a’ and ‘an’ correctly. “A’ is used before a word beginning with a consonant. ‘An’ is used before a word beginning with a vowel. The children thought of their own examples. These included ‘an irresponsible teacher’, ‘a stink bomb’ and ‘a professional footballer.’

The children then made a video of themselves explaining this to show their class.

The children also learnt that a ‘verb’ is a doing word, an ‘adjective’ is a describing word, and a ‘noun’ is a naming word. They created posters to illustrate this.

Well done for all your hard work!
