When the blind man was healed

In RE RL listened to story about a man who was born blind. They learnt how Jesus performed a miracle and healed him so he was able to see.

The children discussed what it would be like to be blind, what would they miss seeing? We thought what we would need to use to replace our sight when moving around safely. The children agreed we'd use our touch, hearing and smell.

Outside the children worked with a partner and took turns to experience what it would be like to be blind and their partner asked them to go and get something and bring it back to them. The children found this very difficult to do without sight.

We ended the lesson by thanking God for for the lovely things in the world we can see and thanking for our sight.
