The Lighthouse
In 6KL this week we are exploring a short animation called 'The Lighthouse'. It is a story about coming together to help each other in times of difficulty and tells the tale of a lonely Lighthouse Keeper whose light goes out during a storm- just as a fishing boat is coming closer. The townspeople come together to help light the way to safety.
We have enjoyed talking about the story, and writing about our impressions of the Lighthouse Keeper. We have also completed some Drama activities, including hot seating the Keeper about his actions and life. Today we chose other potential characters from the story and recounted our experiences of the night the Lighthouse broke. The children were fantastic, and had a lot of original ideas. To finish the activity we created role plays to re-enact the fateful night, which were really entertaining to watch!
