Sculpting in 1L

Topic lessons cover a multitude of curriculum areas. Here are the children getting to grips with the art, design and technology elements of the curriculum... whilst having a lot of fun!
The learning objective was to use clay and modelling tools to create a 3d model to commemorate the life and work of either Mary Seacole or Florence Nightingale.
Many children commented that they hadn't done this before as it is too messy to do at home! Wonderful experiences such as this enrich learning and give children the opportunity to learn and show off more practical skills.
