Good roots run deep

This week in our English lessons we have been learning about poetry. ​We talked about what a rhyming word is and the children looked a variety of rhyming poems. The children were encourage to look for and then circle the rhyming pairs in a piece of poetry. In our next lesson, the children had to read a variety of different poems and then write about why the liked it. Finally the children were put into small groups of read and perform their favourite poem to the rest of the class. The children throughly enjoyed learning about different poems and we enjoyed reading poems together.
