Good roots run deep

Last Wednesday during science, 3M tested different objects to see if they were light sources by putting them into a shoe box.  They discovered that a torch and an iPad were light sources.  

3M then made a long list of things which are light sources (traffic lights, lightning etc) and thing that aren't (mirrors, windows and cat's eyes).  They learnt that the moon is not a light source - it doesn't make its own light.  Sunlight bounces off it and makes it glow.
