Mathematics Parent Workshop KS2

On the 19th of November we held a mathematics workshop offered to all KS2 parents. The aims were to help parents better understand how problem solving develops throughout the primary range and to foster an environment in which we allow pupils to confidently take risks, make mistakes, take decisions, persevere and share strategies for solving problems. The workshop was well attended. Attendees had the chance to visit classrooms to see problem solving strategies in action. They also tackled some problems with their children; practising several of the 8 approaches we teach. Miss Jones would like to thank all those who attended. It was great to se parents and children enjoying maths and there was a real buzz about the session.

The KS1 workshop will take place on the 10th of December. More details to follow.
