Making medicines like Mary Seacole

Posted by Mrs Barry on 04/02/22 at 11:52 AM

In our topic lesson this week, we have been learning about Mary Seacole. Today the children got the chance to explore a range of different objects, which were placed on their tables. Some of these included; mint, ginger, garlic, oranges, lemons, bandages and pestle & mortar. The children were able to smell and touch the fruits and vegetables. We then talked about how Mary Seacole used some of these ingredients to make a selection of homemade remedies.
