Making a Shaduf in 4L

In Topic this half term the children are learning about the river Nile and why it's still important today.

They have designed and made their own Shaduf which is an invention that was very important in the story of Ancient Egypt. It helped people to easily access the water from the River Nile. They built a system of canals to bring the water to the crops a process that's called irrigation.

The children especially enjoyed using the sews to cut the wood they needed for the main frame.
