In our Science lesson this week, we’ve been learning about different parts of a flower. This was a difficult concept for the children however, dissecting real flowers visually showed them different parts. As a result, children are able to identify parts of a flower, including sepals, petals, stamen, filament, anther, ovary, style, and stigma. They also clearly understand each part’s function and role within the flower and the flower’s environment.
Having real materials in a classroom is very important to develop their real skills with real activities. It gives them purpose, meaning, emphasis on independence and create curiosity
