Last week, 2V learned all about Claudia Jones!

Born in Trinidad and Tobego and moving to the UK when she was an adult, she used her voice (both verbally and through her writing) to fight against racism. She founded Britain’s first major Black Newspaper and had a major role in beginning the Notting Hill Carnival, where African-Caribbean culture is showcased and celebrated.

We learned that in 2008, the Royal Mail designed a stamp to honour Claudia Jones life and achievements. We decided to create our own stamp design to commemorate Claudia Jones.

Take a look!
