Chinese New Year in RL

Posted by Mrs Lonsdale on 09/02/20 at 08:40 PM

RL had fun learning about the Chinese New Year. The children listened to the story explaining why each year is named after an animal. They watched a video which showed a Chinese family celebrating the New year. We learnt why the colour red is seen as lucky to Chinese people, what Chinese writing looks like. The children even tried writing their names in Chinese. In class the children tried prawn crackers and used chopsticks to eat some noodles. It was fun learning about a different festival.
