Building our Maths skills

Today in our Maths groups we explored some problem solving activities including one called ‘Build it up’. The children did particularly well with the ‘Build it up’ problem- they needed to find pairs of numbers to add together to fit within a number pyramid. The target number was 15 and as we discovered, it wasn’t as easy as it sounded as we often chose numbers that were too great or too small.
Between them the children found multiple different solutions to the problems and shared some great discussions about their process. I was really impressed by their enthusiasm and how well each pair worked together.
