Body Percussion

In Music today, 6KL explored the genre of Body Percussion. We began with some fun games around rhythm and 'call and response', suggesting how we could make different sounds with our hands, feet and mouths.

The children were incredibly enthusiastic and their understanding of finding the pulse and following a percussion sequence improved greatly over the session.

The class then had a go at following two songs with body percussion as accompaniment. This wasn't easy but they tried really hard to keep up!

To end the lesson, the children started trying to make their own body percussion performance pieces in groups, filling in a simple composition sheet. They showed a lot of creativity and I can't wait to see them performed next week.
