Good roots run deep

6KL had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day today. It started off with some fantastic costumes and sharing riddles of books and characters with each other. 

After the parade we did a 'book tasting' in our reading cafe, Starbooks, where the children explored some books from our class library, as well as some new texts. It was great to see how many of the children found new books they wanted to read, and compared them to similar texts by the same author. (During the book tasting we also enjoyed some squash and snacks as if we were in a real bookshop!)

During the day we have also designed bookmarks for a school competition and created our own exciting book trailers using iMovie.
