4L learn new art skills with oil pastels

The children have been enjoying learning about the artist L.S. Lowry this week. During the week they learnt about the artist's life and looked at examples of his work. Lowry's art was based on the every day scenes of real life he observed in Manchester in the 1900's. In a walk around Brentford on Wednesday, the children had the opportunity to look at and sketch Victorian buildings, including Brentford library, before producing their own artwork in the style of Lowry. They astounded me with their knowledge of Lowry by the end of the week... do ask them questions!
