Real Bread Week

Classes 3L and 3K were lucky enough to enjoy a visit from Sara Ward, a school governor and owner of Hen Corner to celebrate ‘Real Bread Week’. Real Bread Week is about teaching children the importance of knowing what is in our food and teaching them how to make food from scratch. Baking bread is an experience many children (and staff) hadn’t experienced before so it was great to learn together.

The children loved the day and it was fantastic to see how proud they were of the final product when the loaves were brought in after baking. It was a real challenge for them all to wait until the end of the day to taste them!

I am always really pleased when the children can experience a day like this and do something different and new. I hope you enjoyed eating the bread as much as we enjoyed making it!
